GRP Roof-mounted Tank
Watani’s GRP Roof-mounted Tanks are made by spray-up process conforming to NBS PS 69 Standard Specifications.
It is a two-piece tank joint together by means of bolts and nuts and provided with GRP fixed saddles.
The spray-up process begins by selecting and conditioning the mould. A separating agent is applied to the surface of the mould and buff to mirror-finish. A gel coat layer is applied by spraying and allowed to harden. Then, a successive pass of chopped glass and catalyzed resin is sprayed at the same time into the mould.
The last step is rollering the laminate. The object is to remove trapped air from the laminate.
The part with the mould is moved to a curing oven and allowed to completely cure. Once, cured, the part is demoulded and trimmed.
The process is actually the mechanized version of the traditional hand-lay-up (HLU) process.
The finished tank is top coated with UV-resistant coating – normally in white finish.
Practical choice for roof-mounted application – considerably light weight.!
It can also be designed for outside-of-tank smooth surface as
|This model of Watani’s roof-mounted tank has an ellipsoidal cross-section – ideal for “low-height” application.|
Fittings are fixed and readied for leak testing.
