Al-Watani supplies all the GRP pipes for the SE/71 lines from DMC to Abdaly Reservoir in Kuwait. The main pipeline which is DN1200 mm diameter stretches northward for a distance of 85 kilometers. More than 7,000 pieces of GRP pipes each measuring 12 meters long have been manufactured and supplied by Al-Watani for this project.

In addition, all bends, tees and other fittings are also supplied by Al-Watani.

This on-going government project, designed and supervised by Gulf Consult is being implemented by Combined Group And Contracting Co. with Al-Watani as the pipe manufacturer.

  


Al-Watani's staff of engineers and designers have made special works on the pipe and fittings for this specific project. Each pipe rated to 16 bars nominal pressure, is tested at 24 bars. Its hoop bursting strength is confirmed thru a split disc test, is the design strength times safety factor of 4.

The stiffness test confirms a value of an average 703 kilopascals or 102 psi which is way above the MPW's minimum requirement of 496 kPa.

Its extra smooth internal surface allows fluid flow at top speed, preventing scale and corrosive deposits from accumulating. Higher fluid flow also gives effecient and economical pumping operations.
